Spring Fever ( China - 2009 - ENG SUB )

Spring Fever is the latest from director Lou Ye (Suzhou River, Purple Butterfly, Summer Palace), who was banned from filmmaking for 5 years after screening his previous feature Summer Palace without permission. He shot Spring Fever surreptitiously on a showstring budget using handheld digital cameras (transferred later to 35 mm) and took the resulting raw, sensual, and lyrical film to Cannes (again without permission from the Chinese authorities) and won best screenplay.
